At a recent event in Oakland for women+, while talking about somatic boundaries, sex coach Kristen MacLeod gave us a doozy of a metaphor:
Think of the connections between you and another as a river. You’re standing on one side, and the person’s on the other. If you find yourself on their shore, you’re in the wrong place!
I drew it for us:
I’m going to use this as a reminder this week—and always.
I’ll go back to my side of the river—and have no regrets about swimming in all the delicious connections I can find with the people I care about.
How does this metaphor hit you? Is it applicable?
